Inspired by William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night's Dreams

Mixed Media (watercolor and prisma color pencils) 18"x24" September 2012

This is the first of a series of themed pieces under the title: common night terrors, their affects that carry on to everyday life and their beautiful abnormalities. This piece depicts a common dream: drowning; a girl here is a light in a world of darkness, which attracts these deviant sirens for they too wish to be a light but the sirens are a constant shroud of misery. Their jealousy lead to the death of this illuminating girl. In nightmares, particularly those of our youth, we are constantly surrounded by darkness and being chased by said darkness and usually we woke up at a near death scenario.
I wanted to depict the hopelessness of the situation, and the possible reality that concurs after that point of death where we wake up and never revisit again.
Mix Media: Acrylic and ink on cardboard. 18"x24"  2012

This piece is based on the artist Josh who specializes in satirical mix media work. It’s a social play on crack babies and how drugs affect the future generation in the sense that introducing these chemicals causes health and mental problems. And in some cases have been linked to psychological disorders such as schizophrenia. It’s the idea that these drugs bring out the animalistic treats in all of us.
Acrylic. 8 " x 10" July 2012.

Quite the play on words, Taraized (terrorized ), is a piece i had to create for a school summer assignment. The assignment was to do a piece in the style of another artist. The artist I choose was Tara McPherson, whose art is characterized as surreal pop art, often depicting women with interesting hair colors with heart shaped openings on their chests.
Mixed Media: Acrylic and Ink. 18"x24" October 2012

This is my 2nd piece of my theme "common night terrors" (better described in my 1st themed piece titled "Dark Waters" http://www.behance.net/gallery/Dark-Waters/5790151 ).The piece depicts a girl who is so obsessed with changing into her dream personas that she becomes what she doesn't want to be . The mannequins are her former and past selves. The puppet propped in the wall of the foreground is who she currently wants to represent, a character and idea inspired by alice in wonderland.
